BUSINESS NEWS

  • Clean Energy Alliance announced its Solar Plus Business program with Luminia to install solar panels and battery storage on commercial, municipal, and school properties. Approved at a Nov. 20 board meeting, the program will lower energy bills and boost grid reliability (supporting local clean energy efforts).  The Vista Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Oceanside Theatre Company is offering season subscriptions on sale next Monday, Jan. 12 for its 2026 season featuring works like The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Carrie the Musical (at 217 N. Coast Highway).  The Vista Press
  • OMA will host a Swell Plates tasting and artist talk with Francisco Eme on Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at its facility (704 Pier View Way) in Oceanside as part of Visit Oceanside’s culinary series in partnership with 24Suns.  The Vista Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Jan. 22, Jose Torre-Bueno, Center for Community Energy Executive Director, will explain how local organizations can benefit from solar incentives that support sustainable energy production. The session will offer practical insights into decarbonization efforts in the community.  The Vista Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Coastal rail service between San Diego and Oceanside is suspended this weekend for routine maintenance and major infrastructure work — including projects at Del Mar Bluffs and Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad — and officials advise residents to cross only at designated rail crossings.  The Coast News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • California now requires home sellers to reveal thirdhand smoke hazards from prior cigarette or vaping use. The law took effect Jan. 1 and applies to single-family homes statewide, which may encourage similar disclosures in other areas.  CBS8
