  • A Teen Unite and Annual 420 Remix Event is scheduled for April 18th from 4-6 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego in Oceanside—offering rock climbing, laser tag, bubble soccer, free pizza and ice cream—and will announce the winners of the 420 Remix PSA Contest that offers a prize of up to $1,000 in gift cards to promote a drug-free lifestyle.  North County Daily Star

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Lithium-ion batteries in everyday devices and electric vehicles were linked to at least 83 fires in San Diego County in the past year—fire officials warn the number may rise as more people use these batteries. Fire Chief Robert Rezende advised using approved chargers and keeping devices away from flammable materials to reduce the risk.  CBS8
  • A 9-year-old boy from Olivenhain was bitten on the foot by a rattlesnake while playing baseball with his brother on March 15 and recovered after prompt treatment at Scripps La Jolla and Rady Children's Hospital — snake experts warn snake season may get busier.  CBS8

  • Data from Zillow shows that median home values in San Diego rose from nearly $235,000 in 2000 to over $1,020,394 by February. Research director Jack Caporal from Motley Fool Money said low inventory due to limited space and high demand will push prices up by as much as 1.7 percent over the next year — making San Diego a unique housing market.  CBS8
