- ➤ On April 9, the California Coastal Commission approved a $1.835m grant to support Oceanside’s coastal management program and the RE:BEACH Oceanside project. The funds funded baseline monitoring, updated coastal plans, and guided steps to restore eroding beaches — work that will help plan for future coastal challenges — for local residents. - ➤ At a county meeting on April 9th, supervisors rejected a proposal to delay the $8.53 billion Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget in a 2-1 vote, citing a $138 million deficit and concerns over lack of representation in District 1. The county will follow its policy to complete budget approval by June 30th and finalize adjustments on or before October 2nd — with uncertainty in state and federal funding also affecting the debate.
