ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Two Camp Pendleton Marines—Lance Cpl. Albert A. Aguilera and Lance Cpl. Marcelino M. Gamino—died in a vehicle accident in Santa Teresa, New Mexico Tuesday morning while they were on a convoy movement for a border operation, and a third Marine fell critically injured.  CBS8

  • City planning commissioners in Oceanside are frustrated with a new policy that lets the City Council hold de novo hearings on appealed development projects—commissioners say it undermines their role—and they have asked for a formal meeting with the council to clarify responsibilities.  The Coast News

  • Rancho Santa Fe resident Kevin Youkilis, a two-time World Series champion, will launch a 13U baseball travel team and training program in Encinitas for incoming seventh graders. The six‑month program will begin in January—running through July 4 as late-May tryouts will narrow a 25‑player group to about 12 players.  The Coast News
