A decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Troy Othneil Smith (36), was sentenced Wednesday to two-and-a-half years in prison after a small plane he rode in made an emergency landing on State Route 76 last fall and he tried to hide a package containing cocaine near a guardrail as police arrived.

New Village Arts has announced its 24th season for 2025—2026 featuring three award-winning musicals and two San Diego premiere plays at its renovated Ray Charles Stage.
