- ➤ Data from the state Employment Development Department show San Diego County's unemployment rate dropped to 4.1% in April from a revised 4.3% in March while nonfarm employment rose 7,200 jobs. State and local government added 2,000 jobs and leisure and hospitality gained 1,900. The Coast News
