ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials said Oceanside’s RE:BEACH project was named by SANDAG’s Shoreline Preservation Working Group on June 5th as the region’s model for beach restoration—using a living speed bump design with artificial headlands and an offshore reef to counter erosion and update coastal plans. GHD will lead a monitoring program funded by a $1.835 million grant as the project moves forward. The Coast News

- ➤ Today, the Oceanside City Council approved the 2025—26 operating budget that funds new skatepark lights at Prince Memorial Skate Park and sets aside money for theater repairs, fire chief hires, and youth programs while leaving a $1.33 million surplus. The budget takes effect July 1 and was revised after community input at the April workshop. The Coast News
