- ➤ Carlsbad City Council did not endorse a proposed state constitutional amendment to return local control over zoning—citing transparency concerns and a need to review final ballot language—while other North County cities like Oceanside already supported the measure. The Coast News
- ➤ Oceanside will finalize a new cannabis storefront licensing program in August that may let up to four dispensaries open over the next three years—updating zoning rules, application procedures, and giving priority to current delivery-only operators MedLeaf and Left Coast. The ordinance also sets strict requirements for applicants and a timeline that aims to have storefronts operational by 2026. The Coast News
