Bishop Michael Pham assumed his role as San Diego’s seventh bishop today—he began his service at St. Joseph Cathedral and will be formally installed at St. Therese of Carmel Parish with mass starting at 1 p.m. He said he will focus on uniting worshippers and supporting vulnerable groups as he leads the diocese.

A new report shows youth aged 12 to 17 made up nearly 38% of marijuana treatment admissions in 2023 while emergency visits for marijuana use increased by 521% from 2008 to 2022.

The report links marijuana use to suicides and urges parents to lock up THC products — warning against dangerously packaged edibles and unregulated chemicals.

A resident asked if oatmeal or grits is healthier for breakfast and local expert Dr. Megan Johnson McCullough said oatmeal is a better choice because it has more fiber, protein — as well as more vitamins — compared to grits.
