- ➤ Rady Children's Hospital is planning a new canine therapy program where specially trained dogs from Canine Companions in Oceanside will help young patients during medical procedures—using three full-time dogs, the program will rely on donations raised at a give-a-thon on August 26 to cover costs. - ➤ Crews began construction today on a new 111-unit affordable housing project in Mira Costa along South El Camino Real at 2136 South El Camino Real. The four-story building features 56 two-bedroom and 55 three-bedroom garden-style apartments with amenities (courtyard, playground, and central laundry) and will be completed by 2027. The Coast News
