- ➤ Flock Safety halted its federal pilot programs after an Illinois audit found that Customs and Border Protection accessed data. Local police in San Diego, Chula Vista, Escondido and El Cajon use Flock cameras to gather evidence, and the company will change its system—creating a separate federal user group. CBS8
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, CBS 8 viewers donated over $477,000 during a 13‑hour give-a‑thon to fund a resident canine therapy program at Rady Children's Hospital—enough to start with two dogs and two child life specialist-handlers. The therapy dogs, trained by Canine Companions in Oceanside, will support children in various units and the program may begin within six months. CBS8
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The San Diego Padres have released a preliminary schedule for 2026. Their season will begin on March 26 with a game against the Detroit Tigers at Petco Park—marking MLB's earliest traditional Opening Day—and they will host series against several opponents with special home games on Jackie Robinson Day, Mother's Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day.
