Good morning, Oceanside.

On Saturday, local whale-watch tourists spotted two rare sperm whales about 15 miles off the San Diego coast during a sunset tour—riders also witnessed a breaching whale nearby; this marks the second recent sighting of these deep-diving mammals near shore.

Today in the San Diego Section high school football games, Oceanside beat Helix 41 to 14 with A Barquinero throwing for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns; other teams like Rancho Buena Vista and Santa Fe also posted key plays across their matchups.
