Good morning, Oceanside.
🏘️ Community
The city named the skatepark at John Landes Park after late skateboarding star Shane Hidalgo following a City Council vote earlier this year.
The park was rebuilt to 7,500 sqft and honored his legacy at a ceremony on Oct. 6.
💼 Business
American Lithium Energy has tripled its Vista factory size—celebrated by city leaders and the California Energy Commission—and the expansion is set to boost local production.
🏛️ Government
KOCT Television, Oceanside’s public access channel for 43 years, is asking for community donations as funding fell from $468K to $263K.
The station has cut staff and hours while continuing to broadcast local meetings and programming (donations can help keep it on air).
