- ➤ Green Dragon Ventures in San Marcos has designed the Weapons Flotation Device to keep heavy machine guns afloat during sea-to-land operations—using 3D scans and feedback from Coronado SEAL teams to refine the design. The company will manufacture the product with U.S.-sourced parts as it plans further testing with military training groups. The Coast News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Newsom signed Senate Bill 640 today, granting high school seniors automatic enrollment at CSU campuses if they meet the grade and coursework requirements; the law will take effect for the 2026-2027 school year and may boost enrollment at institutions like San Diego State and CSU San Marcos. - ➤ Oceanside City Council approved a revised 401 Mission project to replace Regal Theater downtown—featuring 326 residential units, 26,490 square feet of retail space, and a new 15,439-square-foot public plaza with design updates that include removal of the central tower and relocation of the leasing office. The changes follow resident feedback and council review, and the plaza will remain open to the public through 2064. The Coast News
