- ➤ Oceanside Sanctuary, a church with 150 years of service at 204 S. Freeman Street, is marking its anniversary with a Community Carnival on November 22 from noon to 3 p.m. and a sesquicentennial worship service on November 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.—both events honor a long history of local service and inclusion. - ➤ Wave Chasers (a women's bodyboarding group) has grown from five to over 100 members and meets three times a week at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas to enjoy the ocean and build lasting friendships. - ➤ Encinitas native Alyssa Spencer won her third Super Girl Surf Pro in Jacksonville on Sunday—she beat Eden Walla with strong waves and tied the record held by Coco Ho.
