- ➤ City officials and local high school volleyball players celebrated four new volleyball courts at Harbor Beach on Dec. 15, funded by $12,200 in federal relief dollars in a partnership with Visit Oceanside & Sand Court Experts. The courts now offer free year-round access for sports teams and organized games. The Coast News

- ➤ Nearly two million Californians will see health insurance premiums nearly double when tax credits expire on Dec. 31, with communities of color facing the steepest rises. Local health advocates in San Diego warn many may struggle to afford both care & housing. CBS8
