- ➤ Veterinarian Erica Ellis opened Shalom Wildlife Hospital last month at Academy Animal Hospital in Solana Beach to treat injured wildlife weighing 10 pounds or less. The facility cares for birds, squirrels and rabbits and will soon need volunteers to help with its growing caseload. The Coast News
