Meals on Wheels San Diego County will celebrate National Grandparents' Day this Sunday with a special three-generation delivery team that will bring a healthy meal to 78-year-old Lorraine Perrino, who lives alone on a fixed income with her service dog — a move that highlights the group's fight against hunger and loneliness. Thirteen-year-old Austin Danzo, his mother, and his grandmother will deliver the meal, continuing Austin's volunteering effort that began during COVID-19.

A Vista man named Cesar Cervantes was arrested on July 3 for stabbing three men during a brawl that began on a Carlsbad train platform on June 19—victims suffered non-life-threatening wounds, he pleaded not guilty to assault and criminal charges, and he will face a preliminary exam readiness conference on Sept. 30 at the Vista Courthouse.

Today, the Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation announced its proposal to bring a free outdoor concert series to public parks starting in 2026—voters can support the plan by using the keyword OCEANSIDE online or by text until September 15.
